Renewal of expired or expiring Standard E-Passport. Application must be initiated online via the NIS portal.

✓ NIS application slip & payment receipt.

✓ Current physical passport (expired or expiring).

✓ Photocopy of the passport data page.

✓ Biometric enrollment appointment slip.

First-time passport application for citizens. Requires verification of citizenship and biometric enrollment.

✓ Proof of parent's citizenship (for minors).

✓ Original Birth Certificate (+ copy).

✓ Completed application form & payment receipt.

✓ Two recent passport-sized photographs.

Re-issuance of passport due to loss, theft, damage, or change of data.

✓ Official Police Report detailing passport loss.

✓ Application letter explaining circumstances.

✓ Copy of lost passport data page (if available).

✓ Lost passport penalty fee payment receipt.

Apply online on the official Nigeria Immigration portal, choose E-Passport category, and fill out the details.

Pay the passport booklet fee online using a credit/debit card and print both the application slip and payment receipt.

Schedule your biometric enrollment date on our consular portal to minimize wait times at the embassy.

Come to the embassy in person with your printed documents, state of origin certificate, expired passport, and standard passport photos.

Standard Processing Time

6 – 8 Weeks for renewals and fresh applications depending on passport booklet availability.
